Description
The sequence of residues 1–36 of plantaricin C19 is determined. Although calculated molecular weight of this sequence is 3750, mass spectrometry analysis revealed a molecular weight of 3845.3.Authors suggest presence of 37 amino acids, the last amino acid corresponding probably to valine. Note=Ref2.

Mode of action:
Plantaricin C19 exerts a bacteriostatic action on sensitive cells of Listeria grayi IP 6818 in BHI broth.
